A kit of very helpful resources is available to reliably launch and sustain your local SAFE/Gogo group. These include an extensive leader's manual with organizational tips, tons of ideas, prayer resources, job descriptions and several videos, photos and other tools to tell the story and engage others.

Steps to success…

The initiative to launch a SAFE / Gogo group in your area (or at your church or organization can be simple or more extensive. The key to success is a person with the passion to see it happen. If you are that person, or know someone who is, here are the steps to take:

  1. Be informed about the immense need. Review the information on this Web site and, if you're inclined, dig deeper using the Web links to other informed sources. Think and pray about what you should and want do.
     
  2. In the footer of this page enter your name and e-mail address to receive our KERNELS monthly e-newsletter and the updates about SAFE / Gogo Grandmothers.
     
  3. Find one or more like-minded friends to begin with you. 1) Share this website. 2) Call and introduce yourself to Leslie Lewis (760-500-4311) and request that brochures and additional information be sent to you. 
     
  4. Be in agreement with the Gogo Grandmothers Mission and Vision Statement. Check to see that you are comfortable with our Statement of Faith.
     
  5. As appropriate, seek the endorsement and support of leaders in your church or organization. Explore how the group's activities can fit in with and enhance other groups and mission goals, i.e. youth, seniors, etc.
     
  6. Contact us to get your latest questions answered.
     
  7. When you're ready, apply to become a chartered Gogo Grandmothers group. The advantages are many:
     
    • You will receive everything you need to be effective--your framed charter, a leader's manual, brochures, promotional tools, samples of fundraising items (t-shirt, tiny maize bag, etc. Many tools are available in the Leader's Resource area of this website.
       
    • You will have access to training calls and regular one-on-one leadership support.
       
    • You will know your contributions will be used for maximum impact in Malawi.
       
    • You will be listed on this website and be able to exchange ideas with other groups.
       
  8. Complete the Gogo Grandmothers Charter Application. Download and print the Charter Application form and mail it in. The application fee is $100.00 and provides to you all the items detailed on the form. (If needed, assistance with this fee is available upon request. Check the box on the form. If your charter is not granted, your fee will be refunded.)
     
  9. Gogo Grandmothers will respond to your Charter Application within approximately 10 days.
